Along with the iOS version of Doctor Who, the BBC Worldwide also wanted a small plugin that would allow for a “More Fun” section in their applications. This section would download information on their games from a server and display them in a itunes disc rack style. I was tasked with developing this.

I only developed the client side as fortunately Tag hired a server programmer sortly after I started work on this leading to my rubbish server code being scrapped and replaced by something considerably better. This was an enjoyable small project that proved to be alittle bigger than expected. The API was to be used by other developers in their applications (for example Top Gear: Stunt School and In The Night Garden both have it) in a similar way to how a developer would use the likes of openfeint. This meant it had to be completely self contained, and be both very flexible and very easy to use.

I’m happy with the results of this, however I do think there is much I could improve upon. For example the API for handling rotations is not very intuitive and I had quite a few emails for developers asking about problems relating to it.
